At the most simple level you will need a bank current account ( if you invest in
France) with a cheque book, credit card and automatic debit facilities to ensure that
utilities and local tax bills are paid without delay or administrative bother.
At a more sophisticated level you may need to look at different types of financial
investment depending on such issues as your country of fiscal residence, your age,
marital status, tax situation, inheritance or estate planning objectives and personal
risk profile.
Macmillan Partners can help at both levels: we can introduce you to a good
local retail bank to handle your day to day requirements and, if appropriate, also
introduce you to one of several Private Banking entities providing investment
services and portfolio management tailor-made to your personal needs and time
horizon.
In every case we are there if you need us to accompany you with account opening
formalities and to define for the bank the precise nature of your requirements.
We also work with a number of Life Assurance companies which can provide
essentially the same portfolio structure as the banks but with the significant added
advantage of a life assurance “wrapper”. This can enable you to avoid both capital
gains and eliminate /mitigate the impact of inheritance tax.
As is the case with the provision of our other services, Macmillan Partners adds value in the investment and banking area by passing on to you the conclusions
of our own research, filtering and experience in order to save you time, money and
administrative hassle.
